Big and Huge Homebrew Contest

The Madison Home brewers & Tasters Guild is proud to sponsor the 22nd Annual Big & Huge Homebrew Competition. Homemade beers will be evaluated by the trained palates of experienced beer judges. Beer evaluation sheets will be returned to every entrant with helpful comments and advice. Awards will be presented in five categories. The Best of Show beer will receive the coveted Wooly Mammoth plaque. The Hairless Mouse plaque awarded to the winner of the CMS category.

The competition is sanctioned by the Beer Judge Certification Program and will follow its competition procedures. Details

When:Saturday, April 25th, 2009
Where:Great Dane Hilldale, 357 Price Place, Madison, Wisconsin.
Entry Requirements: Two 12 ounce or larger bottles per entry (or 1-22 oz bomber or 1-750 ml Belgian will be accepted, although we recommend sending two in case you make the BOS round so you will have a fresh bottle for BOS). Bottles and caps should have no labels or identifying marks. No swing tops will be accepted. Attach one completed entry form to each bottle with a rubber band. Include an entry fee check payable to the Madison Homebrewers & Tasters Guild.
Entry Fee:Guild Members: Free!
Non-members: $5 per entry
Entry Deadlines:Entries will be accepted from March 23rd until Wednesday, April 17th.

Shipment by air freight is recommended for out-of-town entries. Pack your entries well! Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Boxes should weigh less than 40 pounds. Entries will be refrigerated upon receipt, thus helping to preserve their quality prior to judging.
